Hmmm, @quietdesperation , maybe I will suggest that to her. Ha! Fear not, I have a son going inot tenth grade, so I will return, no doubt:-)
Congrats to your daughter! Itâs sort of sad in a weird way that one school had to lose out. D1 never looked at Kenyon but it sounds wonderful and seemed like a great fit for your daughter. Now Bates! That was one of D1âs favorites, one of the most friendly, happy campuses we toured. Loved the energy at Bates, wonderful school with a truly dynamic vibe. Your daughter seems to have a strong internal compass, recognizes the importance of what feels right even if it canât be articulated. Congrats to her for riding this adventure out to the end (at least we are ASSUMING this is the end!). Itâs been a fun thread to follow, best wishes for the next four years
simply epic!
I knew it would end this way. =))
Congrats to her! Best of luck at Bates.
Dear Linda, Just want to say that both you and this thread make me unexplainably happy, lol! Itâs been so much fun. Canât wait to read about your son:)))
That decision didnât take longâyour D must have known in her heart what she wanted all along. Best of luck to her, and thank you for this heartwarming saga.
What other waitlists is she on? When can we look forward to the next chapter?
Great news, sounds like it will be a good place for her and closer to home too.
Heck yeah if itâs transferable
No more WL. Carleton closed the door on Saturday, same day she found out about Bates. Ironic!
Now sheâs having major wobblies. Will I be out $300? Stay tuned?.. :))
LOL. Tell her to flip a damn coin already. Honestly, she will thrive at either. It just needs to be the one she chooses ⊠and then doesnât look back. Theyâre both perfect!
Actually, donât flip that coin. Stick with Bates because travel is sooooo much easier!
Iâm still holding out for the full ride âtrial year.â
She emailed Kenyon with the news. Deed is done. Now she can torment herself for the next couple of months;-)
Congrats to you and to your D!
Congrats and enjoy your upcoming trip to Europe in the knowledge that there will be NO MORE decisions pending!
I admit that I was looking forward to getting the inside scoop on Kenyon from you in six monthsâ time. Maybe D17 should take a second look at Bates.
I, for one, would trade the Ohio cornfields for the crashing seaside of Maine in a heartbeat!
Hooray! Great fan of Maine here, though even moreso of DECISIONS.
Wow! Best of luck to her.
What a saga! Congratulations to your daughter. I love Maine! I bet Bates will be awesome.
Congratulations to your D. I hope she will love Bates. Guess its time to peel that Kenyon stick off the car and buy some Bates t-shirts!
