where do you parents stay when visitig?

We are staying in manhattan relatively close to grand central. Any thoughts about where to stay near campus. We are flying in from az and would rather. It drive in the city

You could save a lot of money staying in Harrison , NJ or Newark . The Robert TREAT hotel is very nice ,and you could take a train into Penn Station . Newark isn’t a place to stroll however !

Staying in Manhattan near Grand Central is a great choice because you can take Metro North (which leaves from Grand Central) right to the Rose Hill campus. This way you can also see a bit of Manhattan while you are visiting.
If I were to stay outside of Manhattan, I would consider going North to Westchester (ex. White Plains, New Rochelle or somewhere else on a direct Metro North line to Fordham) so you can get to campus easily. Can’t recommend any specific hotels though.
Enjoy!

PS, The train from Grand Central to Fordham (Rose Hill campus) is only about 20 minutes so it is very close.

BTW, for those on the west coast, airfares from LA (OC) to LaGuardia are very reasonable right now on American for those traveling at the end of August. (About $119 ea way)

The Grand Central Hyatt is a lovely hotel and deals can be obtained at most online websites for hotels and travel. But even then its pricey. Its very convenient.

However, flying into LaGuardia means you have a taxi fare to Manhattan which is 25.00 or more.

As an alternative, New Jersey is a good option, if you fly into Newark. And rent a car and then drive into Fordham across the GW Bridge. NW New Jersey is safe, clean and has fabulous places to stay, such as in Parsippany, Chatham, Madison, Summit. Extraordinary deals can be had (under 100.00 a night for a really good suite, often with a kitchen), which makes up for the cost of a rental car for a few days. Parsippany/Morristown NJ are roughly 45 minutes into Rose Hill (I-80 to GW Bridge, then immediately onto Henry Hudson Parkway NORTH at the end of the Bridge, up past the cloisters, past Manhattan College, cutting in at Van Cortlandt Park-Moshulu Parkway which goes directly to the Botanical Gardens and is adjacent to Southern Blvd and Fordham Rose Hill. Safe, clean, pictoresque, quick and less annoying than the Cross Bronx etc.) We have done both: staying in New Jersey and staying at the Grand Hyatt at Grand Central. Love the latter, but its pricey. Good luck.

Also the Holiday Inn near Lincoln Center is a good value, and you can take the RamVan into Rose Hill from there for a nominal fee, or a subway or short taxi ride to Grand Central and then the Metro North into Rose Hill.

In short, check the usual travel-hotel websites for deals, even if last minute.
