Where do you plan on buying your textbooks?

At the UCF campus bookstore, Amazon, or other site

UCF book store. I looked at amazon and it was only going to save about 30 bucks so I opted the bookstore. The issue I have with amazon is that it may take way to long to get the book to you. Several folks had that issue this summer and spent the first two weeks of class without books.

I bought my books from the bookstore. I also checked on amazon and the books weren’t that much cheaper, just as jswdlw said. :)

Chegg.com is the best! You rent textbooks and get them for much much less. I saved so much money buying for fall! I HIGHLY recommend it!

We bought two at barnes and nobles.com (with our membership card discount) and the other three at UCF…no choice there.

I think it’s right in front of me, but where does it say what textbooks are needed for the class?

MysteryTime, go onto myUCF and click on the “weekly schedule” below the Fall classes you picked. This will bring you to a weekly calender view. Select “list view” When on the Fall 2009 classes page…there is a clickable box that reads “click here to order your textbooks now”. Click on it and you will get a list (print it) of Textbooks for Fall.

Keep checking throughout August. I haven’t looked at D’s list in a few weeks when there were only 2 books needed for 4 classes. Just looked now and she’ll need 3 books for US History, 1 book for Anthropology, 2 books for English, and 1 book for Event Industry. Yikes!

My son got them on Craig’sList for almost nothing. Go there!

when should we order our books?

ASAP if you want to get the best used selection from the UCF bookstore

I’m waiting until classes start to buy my books. I don’t want to spend 100+ dollars on a UCF edition of a textbook if my professors will accept the regular editions that I can find online for 30-40 bucks used.

I figure that if I really need a book for the first week, I can get one from the bookstore on campus and then return it once the other one comes in.

Thanks JSM! My books don’t seem too expensive. For my American history honors class its just $19 for a used one. Just one of them is over $100 for a used one. Isn’t there some kind of store near campus that sells text books? I know we have that here by FAU, so I’m curious to know if theres a discount textbook store in orlando

CB&S Bookstore is always cheaper but only by about $10. But everyone usually talks about going there.

I’m still unsure, should I buy my books now or wait until classes start?
