For those of you who work.. where and how often do you work? Do you like it?

I worked at a garden nursery, but they gave me **** hours so I quit. Over the summer I baled and stacked hay probably 15 hours a week. That was hard, but fun and paid very well.

Right now I run open mic Friday-Saturday-Sunday nights at this local venue/stage/bar. I loooove it, since I get to meet and play with tons of accomplished/talented musicians, from all different genres and ages.

Oh I probably work (though I think of it as play) 5-7 hours a night on those 3 nights.

I used to work at Kumon. I used the SAT as my excuse to quit. I told them I plan on coming back as soon as I'm done with it (hahah NOT).

Actually, about half the employees they had either quit or left for college over the summer around the same time I left, so then they gave everyone raises (up to $7/hour I think... a 13% increase!) and paid every employee $50 per person they tell to work at Kumon.

^^LOL theoneo. I work at Kumon. I'm thinking about quitting. Too tedious, low pay, and takes too much time.

Which one do you work at?

In edison.

I used to live there! Did you go to Thomas Edison?

No, actually I went to middle school in Westfield and moved to edison before 9th.

Haha ok. Well I didn't go there anyway. My sisters went, but we moved like 10 years ago, so I went to school from preschool onwards in WWP. Ahh I've been in this district for SO EFFING LONG!

WWP is a very good school district with NEW schools that have AIR CONDITIONING! lol. One of my good friends is a senior there.

Umm only North has air conditioning. South doesn't have walls.

But yeah. North 007! Who's your friend? PM me.

I work at Rite Aid. If you don't have those where you live, it's like a CVS or a Walgreens. I cashier and develop photos 15 hours a week (three nights from 5 to 10) and make $8/hour (translates to about $6.50 after taxes). It's not bad. I could probably make more if I worked somewhere with higher pay and/or tipping opportunities, but at my job there are long stretches after about 7 or 8 where there's no one in the store and i can get hw done.

Currently work at a small IT consulting/web services firm here (intern -- soon to switch over to regular employee)

previous jobs were.. dishwasher at a nursing home ... grocery store bagger/cart getter (i hated this job)/whatever crappy thing no one else would do/ .. then computer tech at my school for a year ..

I used to work at Johnny Rockets, and would work 25 hours in 2 days. But I was guaranteed to walk away with anywhere from $200 - $600

Now I work at Cracker Barrel. I haven't really started yet, but I almost didn't start at all. They hired me and realized I was a minor (even though I put it on the app) and tried to get rid of my. Well my mom sorted that out :) I'm not sure how many hours I'll get, but I'm hoping for at least 20 (and somewhere around at least $250 a week)

$2-600 in TWO days!? My friend tried to convince me to work there, but when I saw a huge mob of 13 year-old girls coming out, I knew it wasn't the place for me.

I work at Abercrombie. I figured if I shop there, I might as well work there and get a discount.

I'm proud to say that I was one of the few 16 year olds to average about 15 dollars an hour. And yes lots of little girls. And old people. Needless to say, I got hit on a lot haha.

Teach 5 piano students, the $72 a week (5 hour of work) about covers my car insurance & gas... :p

Other $ from my 15 hour a week job on campus at the library, and lots of late night babysitting (which pays better then the library :p )...

CVS......I work 20 hours and make $7.50 an hour. Its ok I guess, except its a killer for motivation to get homework done, especially on Wednesday nights from 4-10 when I have JSA meetings until about 3:15. Needless to say, homework can't get done in 45 minutes. Vegangirl I envy you....our store is usually pretty busy and I wish I could do homework like you. :p

I'm really only working so I can go on a trip to France next summer. Oh, and maybe to get a car after I pay off my trip :)
