Where should I go to school for political science?

I was accepted into Davis for Political Science-Public Service and into Irvine for Political Science. Both would costs roughly the same, but I am also considering UCR for Political Sci/Admin Studies for financial reasons because I would be able to commute (I also have a sibling who attends there). I was wondering if any one had any information on which school would be best. Thank you!

I don’t know the programs specifically, but I think Davis has better name recognition when it comes to getting jobs afterwards. It’s also relatively close to Sacramento which seems good for internships and stuff.

Would you have to take out loans to go to UCD / UCI?

Yes. I would need to take out loans.

How much / year?

Hella. That’s why I’m wondering if it’s worth it.

@philbegas I agree. Forbes and US News ranks UCD higher than UCI. My brother went to UC Davis. Beautiful campus, but kinda in the middle of agriculture country, whereas UC Irvine is in the South OC near the Orange Crush. However, UCI has been getting a negative stigma lately… party school for OC brats?

@lexolive I suppose it also depends on the college culture that best suits you. As for the PolySci major, graduating from any UC would look pretty good on a resume. Good luck!

IMO UCI is not worth a lot of loans. Either UCDavis w/loans or UCR without. But that depends on how much in loans anyways.
