Where should I go?

HS senior from NJ and wanna go out of state, somewhere down south. My ACT is a 26 but I hope to improve in the October. my SAT is not great at a 1710. I take two honors courses and have an interest in Journalism and Economics/Marketing. I saw VCU and really loved it and I am thinking of applying to NC state because its in the city, but I don’t know how either of those schools fit my interests. I’m pretty stressed because I want to EA to NC St. and apply early to VCU which is rolling

There’s a number of schools that will accept you.

Have you asked your parents how much they’ll pay? That will likely determine where you should apply.

There are VCU admission stats here. It looks like you are in good shape. The big thing will be paying for it. You should check the financial aid calculator on their Financial Aid page.

NC State might be tough. From what I understand they only admit 25% from out of state. VCU admits 75% of the OOS applicants but only about 25% enroll.

LSU is in a city (baton rogue) and is a very good school

If you like VCU, take a look at Elon and College of Charleston. But check that you can afford it first.

Interesting, thanks. My parents and i were curious, because so few OOS students enroll compare to instate, would they be more willing to give money to out of staters? Or is that not how it works?

check out georgia state and trinity university (if you consider texas to be south). in south carolina, look at furman and clemson.
