I'm in my sophomore year at my local community college majoring in English. I'll be graduating this May with an associate's degree, but I'm stuck on what colleges I should apply to transfer to. I spent my freshman year at a state school and didn't like it, so I transferred back home. Choosing colleges to apply to is just as confusing as it was my senior year of high school. I plan on going into English/Secondary Ed. as my major and I have about a 3.6 gpa as of now.

I live in Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley area. Most of the schools near me are private with expensive price tags such as Lafayette College, Lehigh University, and Moravian College.

I'm semi-interested in Moravian College because of the close commute and that it's a small private liberal arts school. The thing that turns me off the most is the price tag. It would cost me about $33,000 a year in tuition. My community college has a link program through Moravian and I could potentially get a $10,000 scholarship towards tuition. It's very selective though and only ten people are chosen. Even if I were able to get the scholarship, $23,000 is still a little expensive to me, especially because I don't qualify for anything through fafsa and taking out a loan that big is a little overwhelming.

My other consideration is East Stoudsburg University. It's the only state school I'd be able to commute to. It has a small price tag of $8,350 for tuition, which is a plus, but I have mixed feelings about the school itself. I don't have much interest in the school besides the price point and that I'd be able to live at home. I'm planning on visiting soon so I can get a feel about campus. I've heard mixed reviews about this school. Some people I've talked to that went there felt like their programs were lacking, but other people said it was a very good school for teaching.

I really don't want to go away to school again because I didn't like being away from home and dorming. My previous school was fine academically. I don't think I'd like dorming and living away from home no matter what school I attend, but I feel like I'm limiting my college choices this way.

Any advice would be apprechiated!
