The Extracurricular Activities section of the Common App is pretty limited, and I really want to attach a resume somewhere, but where? I know that I could use the additional information section, but I was hoping to use that for explaining discrepancies in my transcript. I also don't want to use it for William and Mary's optional essay. That's pretty dull.

What do you suggest?

Thanks!

what i did was uploaded the resume in additional info and typed in a couple of sentences regarding something else i know it says either upload OR type but i guess it should be okay. I really had to do both. Is that fine?

Thanks for the help. I was wondering if that would be a good idea, to use the Additional Info to to cover both the resume and those transcript issues. Sounds like you did both an upload and you typed a few sentences in the box on the common app?

yea i uploaded resume and wrote text in the additional info box. i am just not sure if we are allowed to do it. but i did it that way.

Make sure first that you’re really making the most of the Common Application’s extracurricular section. It now gives you the option of adding 12 individual activities and each I believe has 140 characters attached to it. Remember, we understand what most activities are so you can use those 140 characters to denote positions held and awards won rather than explaining the actual activity.

If you still feel the need to upload a resume the best thing is to use the additional information section. Your guidance counselor can always explain transcript issues in his/her letter.

You can also attach your extracurricular resume as additional pages to your uploaded Common Application essay.
