Hi everyone. There are a lot of threads in this forum about scholarships that I had never ever heard of before. I have a list of local and state wide scholarships, but I am not sure where to start looking for national ones. Fastweb seems overwhelming. Any particular scholarships that I should apply for or advice about how to find the best ones?
Are there still any big open scholarships or are all the substantial ones closed?
Are you a Senior, looking for next year, or a Junior, just starting to look?
^I’m a senior.
I’m just starting the process with my son, so I’m no expert.
But Fast Web seems to be a good starting place.
And try your local chamber of commerce, and any local business. From what I’ve read, you want lots of small awards-- with less competition-- as opposed to trying for those huge awards.
Here is a list of scholarship sites I looked through. Some have smaller scholarships, some bigger, some have private scholarships, some national, and some help you apply to all you are eligible for. Good luck:
Adventures in Education (search by keyword, list of many variable scholarships)
Cappex (variety of scholarships, big and small)
Collegenet.com (long list of scholarships)
College Scholarships (quick login, scholarship matches)
FastWeb (list of many scholarships)
FinAid (many national scholarships)
■■■■■ (matches you to eligible scholarships)
ScholarshipOwl (One application applies to all eligible scholarships)
Scholarship Monkey (many scholarships on the site)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ (matches you to scholarships)
