Where to find free parking around UCLA?

I want to bring my car but missed the parking application. Anybody have any good tips as to where there's free parking? Particularly closer to the dorms area?

street parking is your only option. most of the apartment streets have 2 hour parking on weekdays. all of them have street cleaning either thursday or friday at 8-12 or something so you have to move it before that.

but its VERY hard to find spaces near the dorms. south of wilshire is a bit easier to find, but thats quite a walk from the dorms.

if you plan on actually using you car a good amount, i wouldnt recommend bringing it at all. it would be a massive headache to find a space every time you leave and come back, and then having to walk all the way back up to the dorms from where you parked (which will usually not be close to the dorms).

you can check facebook/craigslist/etc to see if any apartment people are selling their spaces. usually they sell them for $100-150 a month.

Hello all,

After a little bit of research I found a great place to park for free about a 7-10 minute walk to campus if you wanna save $10 on on-campus parking.

You can park after 6pm for free on Loring Avenue. Probably the best cross street area to park on is Loring Avenue and Wyton Drive. And I was surprised how many spaces are available.

If you do park there and you want to get to the dorms, I would budget close to 30 minutes to walk.

I know it’s not close, but if you really want to save money, you need to go west of Hilgard into Homby Hills (possibly as far west as Beverly Glen)

Hey-saving money is saving money

Luckily my class is in bunchee hall so it works out well for me to park there.

Here is a link to the picture of the parking sign on Wyton Drive and Loring Avenue that allows you to park after 6pm for free.

I actually live in the area and parking definitely sucks. This article is really helpful and has info on where to park at ucla: [UCLA Parking - A Complete Guide](http://blog.parkme.com/2013/03/08/ucla-parking/)
