where to live as a transfer

any ideas on where to look for decent housing? I may have one potential roommate, but otherwise I am on my own
Thanks!

The View is really convenient, but expensive! As close to the campus is possible is probably best, but it's usually more expensive.

Try posting on facebook that you're looking for a room. It's not uncommon for people to have rented a house off-campus and a roommate backs out, or someone decides last-minute to go abroad. Also, (if you're a guy) look into boarding in a fraternity house. Fraternities typically have meal plans, a nice room to study in, etc., plus you automatically have some guys to hang out with. The houses aren't any rowdier than any off-campus housing, at least during the week. The Off-Campus Housing website typically has listings of openings in fraternity houses, or you can probably find out through the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
(If you're a girl, you could ask about openings in sorority houses but they are typically extremely hard to come by)

thanks for the tips!

Along with the facebook marketplace, check out craigslist.org. (Click on DC, click on housing, search "college park")
