Hey all,

I didn't know where to put this. What I really want to do in life is teach English in different countries. I don't know what I need to major in in college and what to do for volunteering.

I'm really tired so I'm keeping this short

Thanks!

English, foreign language, history, political science, etc. Masters in Education. You should probably take some economics classes too, if for no other reason to help you understand supply and demand, because teaching English overseas for a long time will likely lead to the poor house. Not to squash your dream, but you will eventually reconsider just how long you’ll want to be doing that. But go for it and see the world.

So what is the difference between choosing a foreign language masters verses a history masters of education? I also heard that you have to take a test?

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuump

Yes major in education. Many UC schools have amazing reputations in Asia. I have a cousin who makes good money in Korea teaching English. However, I would definitely watch that tuition bill. Going to an amazing top school that places kids in banks and med schools will probably be expensive and may not be as good as an investment for someone looking to be an English teacher.
