where to start? a,b,c???

i want to start memorizing the sat vocab during the vacation that im going to have in this month. probably 20-30 words a day? (is it enough?) but i dont know where to start and how. should i memorize all the words from "a" list,or just pick some words from EVERY list?

uh... 20-30 is good. if you have time... on vacation.

Personally, I don't believe in pure memorization of vocab. The problem is that there are so many words in the English language that it's really impossible to cover all of your bases. Even the lists that claim to have high-frequency words end up not having most the words on any given test. I think the fill-in-the-blanks and such are really more about analyzing context then memorizing a bunch of words.

For me, I simply committed to look up any word I encountered in my reading that I did not know. This way I learned context and definition but without sitting down and memorizing a thousand words.

I ended up taking the SAT twice and never missed a vocab question.

I memorized a list of 200 "most-used" words on the SAT, and only saw one of them. Of course, it wasn't even the correct answer.

I would stick to no more than 10 words a day if you are depending on memorization. If you actually go back and see how many of the 20-30 you've memorize let's say, 6 days ago, you'll find its not that many. Don't you think it's better to have 10 memorized for sure than around 7 out of 20-30? And not only should you memorize, but USE the words as well...when you speak, write, think, ect. It'll really help you remember them plus enhance your writing skills.
