My D and I will be visiting Ithaca College this summer and are looking for recommendations for a place to stay? Any tips?

The closest hotel to Ithaca College is the Country Inn and Suites, right up the hill from IC. But it’s on the pricey side, and there are many more less expensive options if you’re willing to stay a little farther away. We’re staying this coming weekend at the new Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott, which is 4 miles from the college; I’ll let you know how it is after we get back! There’s also a Hampton Inn and a Comfort Inn on the same road as the Fairfield, so check those out as well.

The prices at Country Inn and Suits vary wildly depending on how booked they are. We’ve stayed for $139 for a king size bed, jacuzzi and free breakfast…a month later the same room goes for $359. So, I would suggest calling around and getting the best prices…

You are so right @monkey13 we are staying there when we go for the welcome weekend and they are booked at every hotel but found a few rooms left at Country Inn so we were stucking paying what they had.

If I remember correctly the Country Inn and Suites gives a discount to any Ithaca families staying there.

Thanks all, this is helpful.

Editing my post which in hindsight didn’t make too much sense: What I should have said is that the Country Inn and Suites gives a discount to any families in town for a college event, such as move-in weekend, graduation, etc.etc. So it would be worth asking to see if you can get a discount too…

I did ask the Country Inn & Suites about the Ithaca visit discount when I called, and they have given me one in the past, but this time it just didn’t make a big enough dent in the total for a 2-night stay! Maybe next time, or if we ever decide to bring our dog (there’s an extra charge, but they do allow dogs in certain rooms) like @monkey13 is doing in a few weeks!

We have stayed at Coddington Guest House a B and B. It is right next to the campus, within walking distance to IC. The owner is wonderful and it is a nice place. HEre is a link (hope it works) to the Ithaca Chamber info that includes lodging:
