Where to Transfer? Communications, Fin Aid etc.

I’m a student looking to transfer from my CC after this coming winter term. I find it unlikely that I’ll be accepted to Beloit right now, mostly due to my EFC (it’s 0 and I don’t see it likely to be covered even if they do accept me, making it impossible to go) So I’m looking for a sizeable amount of schools to apply to. I’m looking to apply to maybe five places and I have a few requirements.

  • High Aid (I'm a student with a 0 EFC /but/ my parents are not able to sign off on parent plus loans due to bankruptcy)
  • 25000 - 29000 a year at most
  • Study abroad, South Korea OR Qingdao or Harbin China (specifically, i'm picky...)
  • Communications or International Relations major
  • Korean language program?? Most people don't have this.

I’m a resident of Maryland, but I prefer the midwest, I’m debating applying to any instate schools as the cost is cutting it close for me to attend even a decent school here, the cheapest are in questionable areas, and I won’t allow myself (or be allowed) to attend in that area. Since my parents and I need a low Cost of Attendance I haven’t been looking at a lot of typical schools.

I plan to apply to:
UW Whitewater
Utah State University (probably a safety school? I was accepted out of high school but wasn’t given enough aid, should be nearly covered to go there with my current GPA)
Beloit (already applied, assuming I will be denied.)
Missouri State University
University of Kansas re-admit? (Previously attended, withdrew from illness, might re-apply if people here think that’s worth it. I would need scholar housing or high grants.)

I should be carrying a 3.5 to a 3.4 out of my CC in a worst case scenario. I have service learning, art show awards, and I’m disabled if that carries any weight. I also have AP scores (3-4 range) and SATs which Im looking to not have considered because they were bad. Thank you guys!

Bump? Crossing USU out for now because I don’t believe it’s possible or sensible for me to afford right now. Any suggestions? If they don’t have everything, that’s fine.
