Okay so I'm a majoring in Criminal Justice and was wondering if anybody had some suggestions on where I should transfer.

I'm currently going to a CC here in Maryland. So Far I only have U of Maryland on my list, but I would rather go to an OOS school as I really want to get out of here.

So hopefully somebody that has an insight on Criminal Justice can help suggest some great schools to me. Thanks!

If I'm wrong...I apologize...I don't know much about criminal justice. But if it has anything to do with forensics, I believe WVU's forensic's program is the best.

In addition to its 16 colleges/schools, WVU also has a nationally recognized forensic science program. Originally created through a partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the program is accredited by the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and is the official library holdings repository for the International Association for Identification.

The program focuses on these aspects of forensics:

Forensic accounting and fraud
Forensic entomology
Bloodstain pattern analysis and Biological Evidence aging
Criminology and Investigative Science
Dactylography and Fractal Analysis of Fingerprints
Forensic toxicology
Forensic odontology
Computer forensics and Database Research
Forensic Textile Research
Forensic facilities include "crime-scene" houses and vehicles that can be altered and adapted to give students hands-on experience, as well as traditional laboratories and classrooms. A separate Criminology & Investigative Sciences major was later added.

A lot of people go there because their forensics is more hands on using the fake crime labs, as opposed to classroom based.

Thanks! Sounds interesting.

Does anybody else have any other suggestions?

U of M will be significantly cheaper than any out of state school.

WVU's $14,000 OOS and $4,000 In-state I think.

WVU is one of the cheapest for OOS and if you really care about a top-notch CJ/Forensics program you should head right over there. It's so close to Maryland anyway. There are tons of OOS there too ... mostly from Jersey and PA.

I'm pretty sure their forensics is rated the best in the country...but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with Criminal Justice...I have no idea...-clueless biology major-

I know that the University of Florida criminology graduate department is ranked number one or something, so I assume that the undergrad program would be really good? I know a lot of people at UF who are majoring in criminal justice.

Northeastern University in MA is pretty well known for its criminal justice program, from what I've heard.
