Which ACT Scores to send?

Realized I should have posted this here…

My daughter will be applying to colleges now into engineering departments. She has taken the ACT three times and her scores are different for each section for each test. For schools that accept score choice, which test date(s) should see send? I am hesitant to send test one, as the composite is the lowest, but it was her hghest math and writing. Thx.

composite…31 33 33
English…35 35 35
Math…32 30 29
Reading…28 31 33
Science…29 34 34
Writing…10…9…8

As to the ACT, universities are divided into three groups: (a) those that use to determine admission that test with the highest composite, (b) those that superscore the ACTs, meaning if you send multiple tests, the scores considered are the highest section scores from the multiple tests (in your case that would give you a 35E, 32M, 33R, 34S, and 10W if the college consideres the writing section (large numbers do not) and thus a 33.5 (or 34) composite, and © those that use the test with highest composite but then partially superscore or consider certain higher sections from another test. In a number of cases, the university may generally be in the (a) category but its engineering department is in the © category and considers a higher math score from another test that has a lower composite, e,g, Illinois does that.

In other words, you may want to consider sending all scores if applying for engineering unless you are absolutely certain the college’s engineering department falls only in category (a). Regardless of which category universities fall within, they all profess that they do not use the left out lower scores against you.
