Which AP science should I take?

I recently talked to my guidance counselor about my schedule for senior year and she said that u shouldn’t take AP Physics 1 because it was online and “really hard”, so now I’m in a predicament. I have already taken honors chemistry, honors biology, and honors earth environmental sci (required in NC). My options are as follows:

  1. Take AP Physics 1 online despite my GD’s warning. I live right next to an AP Science teacher so I can ask her for help.
  2. Take AP Chemistry if it’s offered. Usually it’s only offered every other year and next year is the off year. Plus I have heard its ridiculously hard as well.
  3. Take AP Biology. Have heard it’s not as hard but the teacher is a bit wierd. I didn’t really like honors biology so not that interested.
  4. Take AP Computer Science online. Would be super useful for what I want to major in and for my journalism web design stuff, but I have no prior coding knowledge. Also would be hard cuz it’s online and I don’t know who to ask for help if needed.
  5. Forgo the AP science and take spanish IV honors. Would be much easier and more fun but would lack an AP science on transcript.
Rest of The schedule would look like this
    AP English Lang
    AP English lit
    AP statistics
    AP us gov and politics
    Spanish 3
    Honors band

What do you guys think?

Well, which of the classes are you the most interested in? Which do you think will benefit you the most.

I’m taking AP Computer Science A online through FLVS right now, and I’ll say that the online format isn’t great for learning computer programming. I’m pretty behind, and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to take the AP exam. That’s just my personal experience. You’d probably fair better than I am. I advocate AP Biology, but if you aren’t interested in the content, don’t bother. It’d just be a pain. AP Chemistry isn’t as hard as you’ve probably heard it to be, especially after Honors Chemistry. I’m enjoying it. Honestly though, I’d take the class you’re most interested in.

The answer really depends on what colleges you are targeting and what your prospective major will be. Many top colleges recommend a year each of bio, chem, and physics. If you plan on taking a physics course in college, you would want to have the HS background.

Given that this is the first year that this course is offered, I wonder on what is she basing this assertion? Online would not be my personal first choice, but if it were online or nothing, I might choose online. YMMV.
