gov and pol ap- 3
calc ab ap- 5
comp sci ab ap- 5

this year as a junior i'm taking
world history ap

english 11 ap

what AP's do you think i should next year as a senior? also keep in mind that i want to major in some type of computer engineering, EE, or computer science(basically anything involving math/technology)

so far I'm sure that i'm going to take the following
english 12 ap
spanish V ap
physics c mechanics ap
statistics ap

the other ones i thought of taking are
chem ap
physics c electricity ap

besides the ap classes, i also want to take engineering design, weights, or advanced object-oriented design(but i don't really want to do this because the teacher is incredibly awful)

has anyone else been in a similar situations? any suggestions?

Since you’re already taking AP English Comp this year. Assuming that you get a 4 or 5 and you’re given credit for both freshman comp classes, check to see if your schools give additional credit for AP English Lit. Many colleges do not.

I think you should take AP Chem instead of AP English Lit (for the above reasons).

hmm i guess it’s weird at my school because english is required for all four years, and basically the one i’m going to take is english 12 - the AP one. the only other english related AP class is Humanities IV English 12 AP which i have no idea what it is. so basically, i’m required by the school to take english 12 ap. >.<

Uh…this sounds trite…but how about taking the ones that YOU have an interest in learning…having little or nothing to do with what your parents expect of you or which you think some elite college expects of you. If that is AP psychology, so be it. Think for yourself and become independent and maybe learn something new outside the box.

I think many/most schools require 4 years of English. But if taking AP English Lit will only require extra work w/o any college credit benefit, then why not select another AP that will get you that credit. I’m not saying to skip taking an English class. You HAVE to take an English 12 class of some sort.

Can’t you take Honors English 12? Your school can’t be ONLY offering AP English for senior year.

Once my son got a 5 on AP English Comp, he knew that he now had the maximum college English credits from his colleges. So, he took honors English 12 (for a lighter curriculum) and took 4 other AP classes.
