i know binghamton is the best one, but after that, what does it come down to

stoney brook, albany, and buffalo

im also not sure about if i want to do pharmacy or business, and i think buffalo is the only one with pharmacy? anybody know..thankyou very much

Just so you know, it’s very hard to get into the pharmacy program at UB. They weed people out by making them take courses which are extremely difficult. Go into this situation with your eyes open.

thankyou , i eliminated buffalo because of its distance, 7 hours, way too far, so now im down to albany and stoney brook…binghamton is on my list already

school, SAT 25th percentile, SAT 75th percentile, SAT midpoint

i would actually think the best 3 are geneseo, binghamton, and stony brook. i’d put buffalo next and then new paltz. albany’s reputation has gone way down in recent years.

“Best” is always relative to what you’re looking for! Buffalo is clearly the best pharmacy school, as no other SUNY has one (and it’s very highly regarded anyway). It also has D1 sports, a law school, and a med school, which many SUNYs do not. It is the largest SUNY, is research centered, and offers more degree programs than most, if not all, of the others. But it is not the most selective, does not have a LAC mission, does not offer the same feel that Geneseo or Binghamton have, and does not have as high a retention or graduation rate. If you elaborate on what “best” really means to you, you might gain some real insight!

The way the SUNY system is set up, you really have to look at majors. The University Centers (Buffalo, Albany, Stonybrook, and Binghamton) may offer more majors, but the colleges don’t all offer all majors. I am not an expert on which schools offer what, but certainly not all of them will offer business.

Geneseo supposedly has a superb honors program, but it’s the odd one out.

Bing is New York’s flagship, and it has the best lay prestige of the SUNY schools.

The Macaulay Honors Program at CUNY Baruch is the typical choice for Business.
The Presidential Scholarship at St. John’s University is the typical choice for Pharm.

It really depends on what you mean. I think Binghamton is the best SUNY school, followed by Stony Brook. I also think Geneseo is an amazing school that I would die to get into. It’s the most “selective” SUNY school because it’s one of the smallest. I would say these are the top three, but I believe Geneseo has the highest stats if that’s what defines it as the “best” SUNY school to you.
