I’ve been accepted Butler, Indiana, and Miami of Ohio so far, with decisions waiting from Marquette and Illinois(which I should get into 32ACT and 4.3 GPA) I got $11,000 a year off at Indiana, $17,000 a year off at Butler, and $15,000 a year of at Miami bringing the costs down to about the same price, some lower than Illinios (in state). My two top choices are really Indiana and Illinois, which would you recommend?
Your 2 top choices are the best.
indiana Kelley if you were direct admit
Which is the best fit for you?
Both of your top choices are fine schools so it is more a matter of personal preference. If you have a direct admit to Kelley and there isn’t a big price difference between that and Illinois, it would probably be my choice as the b-school seems to be more widely known/higher ranked etc. But if there is a big price differential, go with Illinois. I don’t think you need to consider any schools that are not your top choices. Congrats.
I’m not 100% sure. I have a sibling who is graduating from Illinois this year, so I’ve been to the campus inumerable amounts of times and I like the atmosphere, but I feel like I might be getting a lesser education if I go to Illinois compared to Indiana. And I haven’t visited Indiana yet, but I will in the future
The prices will be essentially the same, and Indiana may even be lower if I get their Selective Scholarship as well because Illinois gives out little to no scholarship money.
You will not get a lesser education at Illinois. I personally respect UICU more than UI but both are fine options and would be your best options.
The choice is clearly between Illinois and Indiana. If you want to study accounting, Illinois is the better school. If you want to study finance, Indiana/Kelley is better. For other disciplines they are comparable. Therefore go to the school that is a better fit for you.
Both Indiana and Illinois are of the same academic quality FWIW. I wouldn’t blame you if it took you till the very last week to decide!
Miami is good option too
You should definitely visit Indiana – the choice may then be obvious to you. If you like one school more than the other for any reason (including gut feeling) go there.
