which calculus should I take?

I want to transfer to LAC and will take economics major. Knowing what I've learnt in HS, my Math prof allowed me to skip Calc 1 and take Calc 2 this semester, but I wondered is it necessary to take Calc 2 for econ major? I know, there's nothing to lose anyway, but I thought if I take Calc 1 (eventhough I will be bored with what I'll learn, at least I can assure I'll get a good GPA on that).

For a transfer candidate, is it better taking a higher level course or just a normal-level course with a good GPA?

THX

most if not all econ majors in my state require calc for the social and life sciences 1 & 2... i would take calc 1 and get an easy A, then the next semester take the second part....
