I'm currently a student trying to figure out exactly what career path I want to choose. I'm stuck between HR, PR, and marketing. I'm interested in all three, but I want to make a smart choice on what I choose. This will determine where I get my internships while I'm in school. I just want opinions on what you think the best choice would be.

HR (HR Assistant/Coordinator, then Specialist/Generalist): Starting pay isn't so great, but I'm really interested in the work. There are plenty of advancement opportunities, but competition in these jobs is keen.

Marketing (Marketing Assistant or Market Research): Starting pay is better and jobs are increasing, but competition is "intense", which worries me. I also don't want a SALES position.

PR (PR Specialist): A little less of an interest in this, but still an option. Again, competition is fierce, but a lot of jobs are being created in this field.

My biggest worry is what if I choose one, get an internship in that field, graduate, and then not be able to find work in the field. Will the internship even matter to employers in a different field?

Any help is appreciated.
