Which company gets the best cell phone signal on the Vassar campus? We have a Verizon family plan and I'm guessing it's the best signal for him, but I'm not happy with the costs. I could switch companies and do better financially but I don't want my son's signal to get even more spotty than it already is.

Well, as a student here, it seems that Verizon gets the best service. I have Sprint, which has very good prices for family data plans, and I usually get group texts a second behind my roommate, who has Verizon.

Sprint service is not terribly spotty, to be honest. I’d say if you want something a bit cheaper, go with Sprint if a second or so delay is okay with you (it’s fine with me!). I don’t know much about their 3G/4G internet, though. I know I love my internet out this way. It’s even better than it is back home.

Another Verizon family here. It works well but there might be cheaper options.

Thanks! Thanks a lot! (I had to say Thanks a lot! because Thanks was too short for the software to post)

S1 is using Virgin Mobile and he seems to be tolerating it. Not too many complaints. His calls do get dropped sometimes depending on where he is on campus - and that is irritating especially when we are having one of our rare conversations. But, as I said, he doesn’t complain much so I guess it can’t be too bad. We are always thinking of changing providers but there is a huge cost differential and we(I since I am paying) always revert back to the best value.

My son has an iPhone with AT&T. Will that work?

that will work fine.
