<p>I'm not in the states so I have no idea which cell phone provider is good there. Just wondering which provider would have the best reception around campus and in dorms.</p>
<p>Not from the States? Where are you from and what made you decide to go to UCR (just wondering)?</p>
<p>I know for a fact that AT&T works well there since that’s what I have. But I also have not heard anything bad from users of Verizon and Sprint. So I assume the providers all have towers close by?</p>
<p>Oh okay Do you know if any of the providers offer student discount plans or something similar? Cause the prices on the website seem a lot more expensive than the plans I have here, or is that just the same with every provider in the US?</p>
<p>I’m from Thailand…I just heard that UC unis have a good rep so I just decided to applied here :)</p>
<p>No, there are no student discounts for cellphones, at least not that I’m aware of.</p>
<p>Mobile service is really expensive here in the US compared to most countries, it’s quite embarrassing.</p>
<p>Try "<a href="http://t.co/nWQD7LKeNa">http://t.co/nWQD7LKeNa</a>" I hear its cheap, they use sprint’s network. </p>
<p>T-mobile works wonders around this area. Verizon on the other hand is pretty horrible for some reason.</p>
Hi!
I am going to switch to a new phone soon and just wondering what is the best cell phone provider at UCR (AT&T, Verizon, T-mobile, etc.) I currently use Virgin Mobile (which uses Sprint’s network), but it’s giving me very poor signal around campus and around the dorms. I’ve heard some good news about T-mobile. Any suggestions? Thank you very much!
I had AT&T last year, it didn’t give me any problems at all. I got signal everywhere.
@jjjstudent123 T-Mobile isn’t too bad but at Pentland Hills I had no signal. Basically around that area and further behind I had no signal but once I was in campus I was completely fine. From the BCOE to CHASS buildings my signal was strong and I had 4g and 4g lte. I’m sure the dorms in general will give bad signals except for AI.
