I was accepted into stony brook for the spring 2011 semester. I am currently a CC student with a GPA of 3.7-3.8. I am a NY state resident so suny is essentially the cheapest option for me. I have good HS stats but I did have to leave my first 4 year institution after financial problems. Anyway my question is would it be better to go to stony brook this spring or would it be better to wait one more semester and apply to better schools like Cornell, and would it even be possible for me to get in.

Basically is it better to take the offer to stony brook now or wait another semester and possibly get into a better school. Is it worth the risk?

You may want to wait it out. The more times you transfer, it’s generally assumed the more difficult it may be to transfer. For example, you look like a “bouncer” or someone who’s indecisive with what you want to do. That doesn’t necessarily look good to admissions offices of colleges you’re applying to.

Thanks for the info
