I’m taking 14 too but that’s becuase I only get 2 credits for one of my classes due to AP testing… sigh. I do have 4 classes total though. I was thinking about adding another class but I think 5 is a little too much for me first quarter of my college life. I went with just taking seminars instead, for funsies, but not allowed to sign up for them yet…

the bunburyist:

Is 6 classes hard to manage? I was thinking about taking more than 4 classes in the future but wasn’t sure if I could do it well.

@Physalis: I think that’s enough since UCSD encourages freshmen to only take 12 units their first quarter to familiarize themselves with how things run at UCSD. I’m taking 14 units myself ^^

hey what do you think of my schedule. i’m actually kind of confused as of now.

I got into UCSD as a Mathematics Major mostly because of my parents, and I just changed my Major w/ the Major and Minor tab on Tritonlink. I want to major in General Biology and maybe Human Biology. Eventually, I want to attend a medical school or a pharmaceutical school not sure yet.

I got a 5 in AP Chem and AP physics, but a 1 in AP Calc BC. So my course recommendation said I am exempt from Chem 6A, 6B, and 6C. Even so I’m considering taking 6BH my winter quarter.

so fall quarter it’s

Warren Writing A
Math 20A
Psych60 Intro to Statistics
BILD 1

(Why do so few people take BILD 1? This entire thread has NOBODY who has even mentioned BILD 1. Is it generally a non-freshman course or something. please give me some input thanks!)

For me, I’m not taking bio because of AP credits. I wish I took chem now too…but eh, can’t live in the past. Also for my major (human bio), the recommended 4 year plan doesnt have bio listed first quarter but it has it listed like, third quarter so I would still consider it a freshman class.

@physalis: I actually only have four real classes. The other two are seminars, (worth 0 and 1 units, XD) and they don’t require much time outside the actual seminar, so I think it’ll be fine.

@ arc10791, personally, I like your schedule. It’s something like mine, except that I scheduled my math 20B at 8 am (apparently Shengli Kong is a great math 20A prof.)
And the last time I saw ‘BILD 1’ was when someone said, Chem 6A is a pre-requisite for BILD1. Well, yea, I guess they expect you to know the chemistry of water, sugar and organic molecules before beginning to study about cells. Logical. And since, you have credits for all of the chem 6 series, voila, your one of the not so many who’ll be taking it this fall. (And btw… a 5 on AP biology exempts you from BILD1, one other reason)

So I am currently debating whether or not to take Phys2A with Sharma. I read that it’s a hard class and I don’t want to be overwhelmed my first quarter. You guys think Math31AH and Phys2A along with work study is a bit too much?

I couldn’t get into a Chem 6A class that didn’t conflict w/ my other classes or wasn’t too full. Will I be behind if I am a biology major who doesn’t have an science credits yet? I feel so sad right now.

Also, I couldn’t enroll in any freshman seminars because I’m listed as a sophomore?
