Hey :] I'm starting a club next year - I'm just a bit conflicted as to what kind to create. I'm deciding between an Amnesty International Chpater or one that I thought of, which would be a group of students who are musical getting together to plan a benefit 1 or 2x/ yr for a certain cause. I go to a large public h.s in CT

Do the musical one, that way you’re not only helping out but you’re also providing entertainment

I’d definitely prefer to do the musical. If you play an instrument, that sounds both fun and helpful.

I’ve been playing guitar for about 3 months, and I can almost play a song! I’ll be playing every day over the summer, so I figure that I’ll be pretty good by next fall. Hm… do you guys think that I need to excel at playing an instrument before starting something like this?
P.S. Thanks for your replies!
P.P.S. The reason for my interest in Amnesty is because social issues are of interest to me… although running the club seems like it would be kind of boring…

I’d do the musical one because I have no clue what an “Amnesty Chapter” is and I usually ignore stuff like that. Plus more people would probably join.

Honestly, most new service clubs will stand no chance against already established ones at your school.

Go for the musical one.

(: What do you guys think of the name, “Harmonies for Hope”? …too corny?

musical, its more audience friendly
