Which college recommendation letters can I send?

Hi, I just have a question about letters of recommendation. I am a senior in high school. Last year, I asked two people for letters of recommendation: my AP statistics teacher, and the school librarian (who I have known since ninth grade because I work with him as a tutor in a program at my school library). I have just recently found out that some colleges might not accept the librarian's letter because he has never actually been my teacher.
My question is how do I find out what exactly a college requires in terms of letters? For instance, I am planning on applying to Brown University, and CommonApp says that two teacher recommendation letters are required. But it does not state anywhere specific requirements about if they actually have to be "teachers" or if they can be another adult I work closely with.
My other question is does my AP statistics teacher count as a teacher for one of the "main" academic subjects? I know some schools recommend/require that you send a letter from a teacher who has taught you in English, social studies, science, or math. I took two math classes last year, and I guess AP statistics is an elective, but it is a serious math class.
Thanks so much for any help.

Check each college’s website. The school librarian would likely not count for any school.

Thanks so much. Since posting this, I’ve realized how to figure it out. Some colleges need it to be a certain amount of teachers, but also allow other recommendations, so with those schools I’ll add the librarian as an extra.
