I've heard that some colleges don't count the 9th grade (public schools??) and that some do. Does anyone know which do and which don't or perhaps a site that would tell me? I've looked on some individual school sites and haven't found that information. Thanks.

Nearly all of the highly selective ones, even if they say that they don’t. The UCs claim to not use Frosh grades, but yet they require that the grades be reported so the admissions reader can see them. (In the old days, UC did not even request Frosh grades, so an app reader could not be influenced by them one way or another.) Some private colleges (Princeton, Stanford) claim to ignore Frosh grades, for example, but then they use Class Rank as an admissions criteria. And since class rank includes Frosh grades…

This question should be which colleges do not count Frosh grades. Nearly every school uses them. Very few don’t.
