Which Colleges

I live in kansas and have a ACT score of 26 and GPA of 3.75. I have not started my admission processes. I want to go to a engineering school. I have a 32 in maths. But in others my scores are not very good.

Can anyone help me with what my chances really are. Can i get into any of the a very good engineering school.

Can anyone help me. What is the last date i should target to send in my forms.

I am assuming this is a real post and not a ■■■■■. You should be aware that (a) for some colleges, the deadline for applying has already passed, (b) for majority of colleges the deadline is today, January 1 or tomorrow, Jan 2, and thus you must apply immediately, (c) you should be applying to your state schools (UKan, Kan St, and even Wichita St) that have engineering if there is still time, (d) there are many other schools you could apply to if there is still time and you need to start googling now for engineering colleges so you can get applications in today. Some would include Iowa St, Rose Holman, Illinois Insitute of Technology, Bradley, UMissouri, Purdue, there are many others.

Please tell me what you mean by apply. Does this include sending in recommendation letters, essays?

I am worried. Can you please tell me where i can find the deadlines of all these colleges on the net. Is there a single website?
Since i have no idea what school i need to apply. My priorities are

 1. I need grants & Aid
 2. A Good Engineering school.

I don’t have my Full GPA. In my school i have final tests on Jan 3rd.

Thanks for your time.

Each college provides its application deadline on its website and often in the application itself. Many colleges take the common application, commonapp.org, and I believe that site provides a list of application deadlines for colleges that use the common app.

Transcripts and recommendation letters (if college requires rec letters; many do not) are supposed to be sent by the app deadline but usually if they are sent shortly thereafter they will be accepted. Many want test scores sent by the app deadline, but again they usually accept them if not too late (e.g., if they arrive within a week to two weeks of the app deadline). Also, many colleges accept the January SAT test and thus even if app deadline is earlier than that, test scores can arrive by time scores for that test come out.

I am assuming you are a senior graduating in June 2013 and applying to start in Aug 2013. Colleges require you to have high school send a transcript with grades through junior year when you apply if application deadline date is before you get 1st semester senior year grades. Then many of those same colleges require another transcript be sent by early Feb with your first semester grades.

If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, you can get need based aid and for that you must submit FAFSA (fafsa.gov), a form that provides some financial information on you and your parents. The due date for that is usually after the application deadline but varies among the colleges and thus if you apply to college now you must then turn your attention to that. Majority of colleges do not provide need based aid to internationals. If you are an international, you should search Google for sites that list colleges that provide need based aid to internationals. If they do, those colleges usually require a form other than FAFSA and you need to check what form is required by the college.

As to merit based aid, you must check rules for that with each college to which you might apply because they vary. Many simply base the decision to provide any merit aid on the materials submitted as part of your application, mainly GPA and test scores. Others require additional forms to be sent.

Well, here’s a safety for you – a full ride at Prairie View A&M (which has several ABET-accredited engineering majors) for a 3.50 HS GPA and 26 ACT with writing:
