Which company is your new cadet?

My son is in C-1.

If you are going to publish your new cadet's company details online please be careful in what you say about your new cadet/cadet down the line.....

deferring to Ann's wisdom on this one!

"please be careful in what you say about your new cadet/cadet down the line....."

This is where this message board could be a useful educational tool, its intended purpose. Please enlighten me, and others, as to what to not say down the road. What may be obvious to some is not to others.

I'd be careful about...

"my Cadet is wonderful because..."
"my Cadet is having problems with..."
"this isn't fair..."
"my Cadet's professor..."
"my Cadet's roommate..."
(Unless, of course, you are extolling the wonderful qualities of professor or roommate or sponsor family.)

Anything that might identify your cadet and MIGHT give the cadre fodder. My D posted something and the next day had a private message from an upperclassman asking "aren't you so and so..." She had given enough information about something that she was able to be identified. Wasn't a problem at all, but there might be circumstances where a posting could be misconstrued.

The message board is great for asking questions, learning the ins and outs, and keeping abreast of the latest developments. My Cadet calls it the "Mommy network." If you have a questions that might not be appropriate for the forum-at-large, send someone a private message and ask a question. I would like to believe that all of us would keep confidential questions confidential. I know I have PM'd one or two folks over the past year with concerns and those concerns have remained private.

I'm beginning year two; year one was full of excitement, disappointment, success, growing, and learning on my part and hers.

Thanks KateMac. I appreciate the feedback and important lesson to live by on these message boards. Gotta love those message board lurkers and cyber stalkers!

I was hoping to find another parent of C Company that may have photos of the Oath ceremony, as I didn't get any and was hoping maybe he would be in one of them. Everyone around me was clicking their cameras away so someone out there must have captured him.

PointMom: if you are not on plebe-net, join now!!! There will be a webmaster very shortly and everyone will send photos to him/her and you will be able to get what you need!

I am on plebe-net...in fact that is how I found the one pic of my son during the oath ceremony. The only problem is I'd like to copy and save it for my personal scrapbook and the person who took it isn't sharing them...they're for sale. They are beautiful pictures though. The link was provided on plebe-net yesterday.

There was a mis-communication there...read the later postings. That mom just uses that as a "share site." She will be sending the files to the new webmaster as soon as we have one, or you can email her directly to get the file...she is refunding any $$ that was inadvertantly paid.
