Hi, i need some advice on which courses to take so i can transfer them. I have taken consideration of enrolling to Santiago Canyon College and wishing to complete credits needed. Now, I have an idea: pre-calculus, foreign language, liberal arts math... but what other classes that might be better?

Thanks!

Use http://www.assist.org to get listings for courses to take at your CC to prepare for transfer to a UC or CSU in your desired major.

For example, for Santiago Canyon College to CSU Fullerton in the major Business Administration (which has an Information Systems concentration), the courses are listed at <a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST; . In addition, you can complete CSU GE (listed at <a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST; ) or IGETC (listed at <a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST; ) to fulfill breadth requirements at CSU Fullerton. There is also a US/California history and government requirement at CSU (see <a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST; ).

CS is a more technically-oriented major than IT/IS/MIS, which are more business-oriented. CS will require substantial math courses, as well as CS courses involving programming, data structures, and systems. IT/IS/MIS is more about managing computers. Someone working in IT/IS/MIS may find it advantageous to take CS courses to get a stronger technical background than most people working in IT/IS/MIS.

For comparison, here is the course listing for Santiago Canyon College to CSU Fullerton in the major Computer Science: <a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST; .
