AACSB Accredited Accounting Programs in California

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is a globally recognized organization that provides accreditation for undergraduate and graduate accounting programs. Only 180 accounting programs are currently accredited and have been found to meet the rigorous standards established by the AACSB. The following accounting programs in California have been accredited by the AACSB:

California State University, Fullerton (Steven G. Mihaylo College of Business and Economics)
San Diego State University (College of Business Administration)
Santa Clara University (Leavey School of Business)
University of San Diego (School of Business Administration)
University of Southern California (Marshall School of Business)

If you do some searches on Google: SLO, SDSU and CSU Fullerton are the Cal States the come up the most often as being the best rated for Accounting majors.

You should select the school that “fits” you best academically/financially and socially.

How about CSULB @Gumbymom. Is that under the AACSB?

Here is the link for the accreditation if you want to search: http://www.aacsb.edu/accreditation/accredited-members/global-listing?F_Accreditation=Business+and+Accounting&F_Country=United+States

I am no expert on Accounting programs so I do not know if this accreditation is important. Just found this information while doing some searches.

My $.02: there are plenty of very well respected accounting programs In CA that lack AACSB Accounting Accreditation. CSULB and lots of other business schools have AACSB Accreditation, but not the “Accounting Accreditation.”

Cal Poly SLO is a top program. SJ, SF & Chico grads do well in No Cal.

Some judge accounting programs based on their pass rate for the state CPA license.
