As a prospective freshman for engineering, I have to choose between these school's engineering programs. What do you think?

VT (Pros: decent rank, nice campus, football. Cons: 60/40, middle of nowhere)
Purdue (Pros: very good rank, football. Cons: 60/40, middle of nowhere)
University of Florida (Pros: girls, weather, football, decent rank. Cons: regarded as a party school)
Penn State (Pros: good rank, good social aspects. Cons: huge)
Clemson (Pros: top 100, football. Cons: not very noteworthy engineering program)
Maryland (Pros: in state, prestigious, good program, football, basketball. Cons: too close to home, campus is rather mundane)
Delaware (Pros: nice campus, overall good school. Cons: Engineering ranking 60)

These are my choices if I don't get into Michigan.

Isn't Penn State in the middle of nowhere too? On the plus side though, when I was applying, I remember one of their hooks was the number of engineers that graduated from the program. That means a huge alumni network across the country.

I would have no idea--what about making an extensive pro/con list, including costs, if you like the required classes for the major, etc. Including the little stuff can eliminate some schools, but it is rather time consuming to research all that. Putting it into Excel in columns and stuff is efficient, and you can use colors and black stuff out you don't like about a school. Good luck! I'm not a person who cares much about rank, just what kind of education I can get and if I'll be happy there.

Look at the personalities of the schools too...Clemson students just got in trouble for holding a "Gangster Party" mocking black people. It was all over local news.
