I understand FSU and UF are at the top yet I’m not 100% sure I would be able to get into those. I’ve narrowed my other 4 schools down to FIU, FAU, USF, UCF. I like business and computer science so I would probably want to major in one of them. I also take into account the sports teams, so that would obviously give USF the major lead in that stand point. I also live in boca raton, about 10 min away from FAU, so me living here with the experience around Boca, and I could either get an apartment or live with my parents, which would save a ton of money. So the main factors are my business and computer interests, sports, and how FAU is so close. If someone could please help me distinguish these colleges a little bit more, as to which college is more respected in which field. If they are all respected the majority of the same, please let me know.
If you are looking for the best education you should go to the best University, in Florida that’s UF, being a Gator you will experience how big is Gator Nation.
In general, UCF and USF are about the same (academics and sports), with FAU and FIU are step behind. UCF is very strong in computer science.
Really, nothing wrong with attending FAU, if that makes the best $ sense…
Good Luck!
After Irma, your choices might be reduced!

We love FAU’s campus and Boca in general. IMHO FAU is going to continue to improve over the next decade. That being said, for your academic interests I really hope that you get UF. UCF would be the next obvious choice probably. UCF has a great hacking team from what I have heard. I don’t have objections to any of the schools on your list though.
One small ‘quirk’ we noticed at FAU - at the time my son applied, Computer Science majors were required to take a foreign language (college level, not high school - though you could test out), whereas Computer Engineering majors were not. As petty as this sounds, this issue ruled out FAU for my son (who could have gone there for absolutely no $$). Foreign language study is not his cup of tea, though he is a strong coder LOL.
