My D will be a freshman, living, hopefully, in one of the freshman dorms.
Could be Hayden. Could be Third Ave North. My two questions are as follows:
a) Which meal plan do most freshman normally get?
b) Which meal plan do freshman actually use?

The choices, per semester, are as follows:

175 FLEX. 175 meals per semester. $1,995.00

113 FLEX. 113 meals per semester. $1530

75 Flex. 75 meals per semester. $1050

19 MEALS. 19 meals per week. $2230

14 MEALS. 14 meals per week. $2130

10 MEALS. 10 meals per week. $1995.

Thanks.

your a) and b) are practically the same question…
unless you eat everyday at the dining halls the prices per meal are almost average with everywhere else in the city. NYC is one of the best places in the world for food…dont constrict your child to eatting just on campus - let them explore the city and explore the different foods nyc has to offer

standard is like 14 meals a week or something, dont go over and get 19 meals a week…10/14 a week is good or the 175 flex imo.

You’re automatically put on the 14 meal plan so be sure to change that.

I remember in a handout they sent that if you end up in a dorm with a kitchen, you can get the 75 meal flex plan (I think that’s what it said.)

Anyways, I’m doing the 113 flex. People say they almost NEVER use up all their meals and at least flex lets you treat friends/family to meals and you can give them away at the end of the semester. It’s NYC, you’re going to eat out at least a few times a week so there’s no point in using a meal plan.
