Which hotel should I stay at for orientation?

<p>I'm doing the 1 day orientation for transfer students. I'm going with my parents and was wondering where should I stay... The UCLA guest hotel is full... any recommendations? I don't want to spend a lot. I want to it be a in a clean safe place, preferably right by UCLA. There are lists of hotels right around UCLA but I don't know which one we should stay at. Any opinions on Clairmont? It looks nice.</p>

<p>have you tried the hilgard house? it's right by south campus, and aside from the guest house, it's the closest thing going. well unless you wanna pony up for the W =P</p>

<p>it's not exactly the greatest place, but for only a night it's cheap and very well located. can't really beat that :)</p>

<p>or bring a sleeping bag and tent and camp out in front of pauley. so many people will think you're on to something, i guarantee you'll start a line ;)</p>

<p>Darn, the Hilgard House is sooo expensive. Its like almost $200 bucks a night for 3 people. Too expensive.</p>

<p>Any other suggestions?</p>

<p>If you don't mind being a little further away, my parents managed to get a room at the Beverly Hills Hyatt for about $120 using Priceline. The only downside is you don't find out the hotel until after you bid.</p>

<p>Tiverton House is about the same price as the Guesthouse, and you should be able to get UCLA prices at Hilgard House for about $140.</p>
