I am planning on completing the IB program at my school, but I wasn't sure what to take? I was thinking that I should take HL math, chemistry, biology, english, history of americas, and spanish. I don't really know how hard these classes are, so I'm unsure of what would be best for me. Is the IB program really hard? A lot of people say its super hard.

The IB program is administered differently at each school, so you need to get specifics from your school. In general, an IB student takes 3HL courses, 3SL courses and Theory of Knowledge. Those must include English, Science, Math, Foriegn Language, History and an elective. What courses are offered within those catagories varies by school.
CAS hours are required (150 hours, creativity, action and service).
If you enjoy reading, have reasonable retention and don’t mind essays, IB can be an amazing education journey. The IB test format is essay…not multiple choice. That’s a big difference between IB and AP.

Our D is an IB Diploma Candidate. At her school the students take both IB and AP classes in the IB program. She really prefers the IB format–essays, application of knowledge, etc. Oh, and don’t forget the extended essay.

How does your daughter take ap and ib?
