Which is better: recommended SAT IIs, or SAT I scores?

I have taken the SAT I two times and I've done pretty crappy considering the school I am applying ED to (Cornell CALS). Like 1850 crappy (although I am considering getting my June test rescored since I went down 110 points in the math section and I was extremely confident I did well). The ED deadline is November 1st. CALS "recommends" two SAT IIs in math/science.

I plan on taking the ACT in September and owning it. My SAT options are October and November 1st.

I could take the SAT II subjects in October and send in my ACT grade. But if I send in the SAT II scores, I have this horrible feeling once they see my SAT I grades they will be like "*** is this girl thinking?". Especially since it's an Ivy League, which usually expect east coasters to take the SAT.

Here is my question: Is it better to take the recommended subject tests and send them in on time, with my crappy SAT I score and hopefully good ACT score? OR is it better to take the SAT I in October, take the SAT IIs in November, and send in the SAT IIs late? OR is it better to do awesome on the ACT and only send the ACT?

The second option. Actually, taking the SAT II on November 1 is probably okay.

We have eerily similar statistics, ambitions and threads.

Other than that, I can't say I'm qualified to respond to your question, so sorry in that sense.
