So the general consensus is that difficulty and rank of the school you're transferring from makes no difference in the applications. I go to one of the Seven Sisters and it practices grade deflation. With this in mind, I am wondering if it is better for me to stay in the current college I attend or go to a community college and transfer from there? I don't want to lose the rank and prestige of my current school. At the same time, however, I cannot stand it here, especially considering they don't have the major I want.
My big concern with a community college is that A. I will be lucky if I come back alive after making such a proposal to my parents and B. After going to private school for so long, I will be incredibly bored there. I've been bored by classes before, and it was so annoying! However, nobody will believe me when I say I can do challenging work because I have been bogged down by health and/or malfunctioning equipment problems.
Any advice? Do I stick it out until the end of my sophomore year or do I go the CC route until the end of sophomore year?

Huh? Not a general consensus that I am aware of.

I would not agree with that at all.

I would certainly not recommend moving to a cc. IMO, that would give the appearance that you could not handle your current school, raising qx in a transfer school’s mind as to whether you could handle their work.

Unless you want to transfer to a state school that has an articulation agreement with the CC, stick it out. It absolutely does matter where you’re transferring from.

Thanks guys. Phew That’s extremely good to know. I’ve seen that statement in so many other threads here, and it began to really scare me.
