I might be in the minority, but if my practice tests are any indication I'm about the same on all of them - 710 W, 710 CR, 720 M.

Of course, that means I have to study for all three of them as opposed to just one...

Yeah, I'm not bothering studying the vocab, that section's fine, it's just the actual passages that suck.

writing fo shore. I can never nail that essay... an 8 was enough for me :-)

CR definitely. 680- i just can't quite pull it above 700!
i want to really badly. one more try in october. I have taken 3 practice test and once for real. im scared i will go down though!

Math. I hate SAT I math. I can't get it past 700 :[

Math for me. It was 120 points lower than my other scores on the June SAT. :/

i'm suprised there aren't more people having trouble with writing.
I tied scores in CR and math and got 90 points less in writing. 9 on the essay.
HATED the writing section.

and math is by far the easiest to 'study' for I think, so it shouldn't be impossible to improve a score that is in the 600's or less (IMO).

all of the good books ive seen have indexes of the most important math concepts. studying those helped me crank up my score.

I got an 8 on the essay but still did better on writing than critical reading. 690 W, 660 CR.

CR...fail miserably at it

CR by far...

Critical Reading... oh boy.

CR

I just need to read/think faster, or use more techniques naturally, I can get (almost) all the questions right given adequate time for reading/thinking.

Just like most others, I find CR to be the hardest.

Math. It's the hard-difficulty grid-ins. :(

I would say CR

Math is interesting to study for, and the problems don't cover difficult material, they're just tricky.

Writing isn't bad. Grammar rules are common sense if you read enough. The essay is easily learned - length is the key.

CR isn't THAT bad, but still.

Math is easy, CR is pretty easy (I just need to work on learning roots etc), Writing is the hardest for me. I need to look over the grammar rules etc before I take the SAT again.

Math is very easy for me; I kinda zip thru it. CR, on the other hand ... don't get me started.

llpitch why are you retaking? 2330 is a great score.

^Probably (now I'm just guessing here) because he wants a better score.

And mine is math. It's the only section that really seems pointless to me. No matter what you pursue in college, you'll need a foundation in reading and writing, but why do I need to be able to recognize the usage of a special right triangle theorum if I'm going to study history and politics? Can our president factor a third degree polynomial in 30 seconds? I think not. (Nor can he pronounce the word "polynomial" in 30 seconds, but that's beside the point).

I don't think the vocab section is helpful for engineering. And the logic for the CR section is nothing related to the logic used in math/sciences/computers. And writing a 25 min. formula essay using big words aren't that necessary for these subjects either.

But acing CR... tough i can only say
