I got all As my freshman year and have not achieved that since. I know freshman year doesn't matter as much as sophomore and junior, but it is nice to have that extra little push. Which ivies consider, and which disregard, your freshman year grades?

I would say that they all look at your whole record. Since your grades fell since freshman year, they could possibly think that's not a particularly good sign. I would venture to say that having good grades freshman year, and then falling from that level may even hurt you. If your grades improved since freshman year, in essence, if you had performed opposite to what you have done, it would have helped you. Especially for the Ivies. Sorry... :(

Well the same goes for me, but I went from all A/A+ in easy classes in freshman year to all A+/A/A- in MUCH harder classes after. I doubt that'd be bad thing...maybe if your grades went down to like the low B/C range...

Princeton does not consider freshman year.

My situation is more like MegaVortex7's. While they weren't easy classes, they weren't nearly as hard as the ones I take now. Factoring in my core class grades has a nice impact on my GPA, so that is why I wondered.
Franglish- so if I had a 4.0 freshman year and a 3.8 each year since, you are saying it would have been better to have a say, 3.6 freshman year? I feel like if it doesn't decline to something terribly horrible for the ivies, it is better to go down a little... what do you think?
