Which major will you choose for college?

Jonathan1,

If you want to do intelligence (CIA, DIA), then I'd recommend you start getting rid of as many foreign ties as possible. Yes, even Canadian ties.

I want to do something like anthropology/sociology with a minor in history. Then maybe grad school for international relations, work for some organization in that area...Hopefully I can write a couple of bestsellers and be set to do whatever the hell I want. :) Or just marry rich and pursue my passion for taxidermy in Manitoba.

i want to be an investment banker so i will probably double major in finance and history. i would major in history because its really interesting and finance to prepare me for my future career goals.

Prolly chemical engineering or biology w/ pre-med program.

If I don't make med school, chem eng is a great major to fall back on (I love chemistry and have had a lot of success w/ it). This might also end up being why I don't take biology. After all, what can you do with a degree in biology? My ultimate dream is to become a doctor, a profession that I admire, not so much for the salary (which is quickly dwindling anyway), but because of the nature of the work. I feel like the honesty and integrity that was once associated with doctors is deteriorating and I intend to contradict that through my own efforts. I have the goal of being among the minority of doctors who place the benefit of their patients above the money they're taking from them.

i want to be an orthopedic surgeon so i plan to attend a 6, 7, or 8 year medical program.

Philosophy and international politics.

hmm...i have no idea...probably something science-y or i have no idea. if i'm not in science, I'm basically screwed and i have NO ideas. Same as anon

major in french, possibly double with linguistics
minor in german, russian, psychology or linguistics (if not double major)
meet education reqs, and pursue a Ph.D

teach french in high school or college, work translating literature, or teaching ESL abroad

in my old age, open a small restaurant

Political Science. Possible minor in Sociology or Philosophy.

And...good question :P

Probably major in classics and wind up getting a PhD. Oh and because I chose to major in classics I won't be talking to my dad ever again (he wants me to do something practical. I want to be happy.) I'll probably just get a teaching certificate and teach latin at some high school and eventually try and teach at a university.

I'm very indecisive about my future though so these plans can change at any moments notice.

Well, I've changed my mind since I last posted on here. Now I would like to major in either engineering or architecture.
