Which math class should I take in high school if I want to become a dentist?

I’m currently about to go into my senior year of high school and I have to choose between taking Pre Calc or Statistics for a math class but I’m not sure which one to do. I want to study in the dentistry field in college so I wanted to know which one might be best for me to take now or for college in general. also I’m not the best in math I honestly hate it

Take Pre Calc first for sure. I know a lot of people who took both Pre Calc and Stats together, but I don’t recommend doing so unless you’re extremely good at managing your time. Stats honestly doesn’t really have much to do with math anyways, though. Most of it is just memorizing formulas and then explaining how you got your answer.
I know a lot of people who suck at math and did really well in AP Stat, but regardless, Pre Calc is definitely more important to take.

oh alright then thank you so much!

Some dental schools require calculus, so having at least precalculus in high school to be ready for calculus is desirable.

Also, some colleges’ physics for biology majors courses do require calculus.

Dental school will require calculus, which will require precalculus. So… if you’re sure you want dental school, take precalculus.
Otherwise, AP Stats or regular precal (since you’re not good at math and dislike it - but you must take a math class).
