Just accepted to IU and trying to decide what neighborhood to live in. I'm an Education major with possibly a Theater minor. I'm pretty high energy, but I can be mellow as well. Basically I just want to be able to meet a lot of different people, because where I am currently living is pretty generic. I want an equal mix of partying and studying, and I do not plan on going Greek.
So, I don't think that I wanna live in Northwest because of the party reputation. I'm also not really sure about Southeast because I heard that the people there are a little awkward and quiet. I was thinking Central, but I am concerned that I'll be in a single room. I really want a double, triple, or quad so that I can make friends.
Ok, so I guess give me your opinion on Central or if you think I seem better for a different neighborhood- let me know.

You want Teter or Eigenmann. Teter is your perfect mix of everything partying, studying, people, etc. and should be your first choice. Eigenmann has many international students and people of many different majors, though some people dislike it. Those are the two dorms in the central neighborhood you would like most. Wright and Ashton are old and not A/Ced and Union Street you wouldn’t get to meet people even if you got in.

Daughter is a Freshman and lives on an Honors floor in Teter. She really likes it. It is quiet on her floor, but she has met lots of people and it seems like she is always busy doing things with new friends that she has met from the floor. She has gotten very involved in the governing board for Teter and is her floor governor. She must like it because she plans to live there again next year! Earlier in the semester she visited Northwest neighborhood on a Saturday night…definitely knew right away that it was not for her!

Forgot to ask: Why are you afraid you would be in a single in Central? We never even gave that a thought, and assumed that singles really were by request only.
