First things first, from what I’ve gathered about North Campus, Haggett is extremely social because two floors share a lounge, and the elevator opens right into the lounge. That’s important to me bc I really want to make friends, and I’ve heard a lot of college students say their most solid friendships came from the dorms. It also seems to have really pretty window views at night, and you can stay over winter break if you live there. Then McMahon’s rooms seems nice, but socializing there is apparently really limited to your clusters? And Hansee is quiet 24/7. So from North Campus, based on what I know, I think I’m really just interested in Haggett. (Feel free to tell me anything I might not know that would change my mind though!)
Now West Campus! I think the dorms are really beautiful, and I like the layout of all of them, so I think deciding my favorites from there will come down to how social they are. I know that they’re relatively less social than the North Campus dorms, but I don’t know much about how social they are compared to one another. (I find it hard to believe everyone at every single one of them is completely isolated, does no one ever use the lounges?) Apparently Alder is very social because there are a lot of freshman there, and Lander is the least social of the West Campus dorms because there are a lot of international students there. Can anyone deny or confirm this, and can anyone who’s lived in or has been to Elm, Maple, Poplar or Terry tell me about the social life there? Or honestly just give me more insight into any of the dorms at UW in general? Thanks!
