I am applying to UF, FSU, UCF, AuburnU, Pepperdine, UMiami, and StetsonU.

My student bio is:

I am a Florida resident. I have a 4.1 weighted GPA (only core classes), a 3.5 unweighted GPA (3.6 counting electives), a 1990 SAT and a 29 ACT. I am sports editor of my school newspaper, have 150 hours of community service, am in the National Honor Society, English Honor Society, Beta Club and co-founder of the Law Society. I am also a varsity football player. I have taken 5 AP classes and the rest were honors, and I am taking another 5 next year (senior year).

don’t really know these schools – but just looked up their admissions stats for you – assessment based purely on your relative stats and admission percentages for the schools.

Auburn, FSU, UF, UCF – Your stats are well above average.(Safety or Near Safety)

Stetson – Target-near safety
Pepperdine, – Target
U of Miami – Target

To be honest, it wouldn’t surprise me if you got into each and every school on this list. (though they way things go these days, if you missed at one or two, I wouldn’t be shocked either).

Overall, I think you’re selling yourself short – you would have a good shot at more competitive schools than most of these.

UF, - match to high match
FSU, - safety/low match
UCF, - don’t know, safety is my guess
AuburnU, - don’t know
Pepperdine, - high match
UMiami, -high match, i went there as a freshman
stetson- don’t know

If anyone was wondering my SAT with only reading and math is a 1270. I got a 720 on writing. I am also taking both the ACT and SAT again in the coming months.

Not to be rude, but all of these schools are exceptional reaches based on your stats. You’d need a 3.8UW and 2150+ to be semi-competitive for most all of these.

I can only advise on the 2 I know well, AU & UF. You’re totally in at AU and bring that ACT score up only 1 point and you have full tuition paid. I know UF really uses GPA to weed out applicants and yours is a little low for them, but since you’re in state and you clearly have taken a rigorous curriculum you still have a good chance. So I’d apply to both of those.

Are you serious about the full tuition paid with only one more point on the ACT? Ive only taken it once and I had no idea what I was going in to, so I should be able to bring it up at least 1 point. I only need to improve my math and reading, my English was a 35.

And the UF thing, how much will my chances increase by just be improving my ACT or SAT by a few points?
