which one should I choose? Syracuse university or Lafayette college?

Hey!
I am an international student applying this year in the ED1 and I don’t know which university should I put in my ED1, lafayette or syracuse?
I got a 27 act, 32 maths - 31 science - 27 english - 19 reading( I know my reading score sucks but English is not my first language. I took an English proficiency test ( IELTS) and I got a very high score on it. I scored 97th percentile on the STEM portion on the ACT.

I have very strong recommendation letters as well as impressing extracirricular activites. I participated in many science fairs. Also, I am a football player, basketball player, handball player and swimmer and I will take a recommendation letter from my coach.
I have a GPA of 4 and I am the students’ union president for 2 consecutive years, actually grade 10 and 11.
I will need financial aid, a lot of financial aid.
I am applying to mechanical engineering.
I am the only one applying from my school.
Which one should I choose? which one will give me the most aid? please help because the deadline in coming and I haven’t decided yet

If you need a lot of financial aid, Lafayette.

Both of these schools are great but also very expensive. I’ve got one child in each school’s engineering programs currently, so I think I can be helpful. These are very different schools; Lafayette is small, very private and a much more sedate college with great academics. It’s tougher to get into; the acceptance rate is much lower than Syracuse. If you’re looking for wild weekends and tailgate parties, don’t go to LC. Weekends are fun, but not crazy like some larger universities. Academics at LC are top notch and challenging. LC is struggling to attract more diversity in their student body by having more $$ available for scholarships, but I don’t know how successful fundraising is yet. SU is where my daughter goes and she loved the school from the minute she saw it. You’ll see some more diversity at SU, but it’s still mostly caucasian students. SU Engineering strongly supports women in engineering and does so with real scholarship money to attract top students. SU has a lot more to offer in terms of the typical college experience; there’s more partying going on and a much larger student body, including graduate students. I don’t know much about financial aid for international students, but I’m guessing it’s very limited unless you bring some special experience, skill or knowledge to the table that will make you stand out from the crowd. If they want you, schools will say so with money in many cases. Good luck!
