Which race to identify with?

I am not sure what to identify as, I never was sure actually.

I am half Dominican (is that hispanic?) and half Italian; legally I am a white citizen of USA. Would it be better for me to put Caucasian, or hispanic? Or is there a way to put both?

How would other people address this like if someone was black/asian?

Will how I identify my race matter to admissions? Like if I put myself as an URM will that help, or will saying I'm white help because they think I have more money to give?

Thank you!!

My daughters are white. Ethnically they are Argentinian/ Russian/ Czech. Since they are 1/4 Argentinian, they qualified as Hispanic for College Board–which allowed them to earn Hispanic Scholar. On college apps, we checked white, Hispanic and other (and listed Russian/ Czech). How this affected college admissions school by school, I can’t say, but we answered the questions posed to us about race /ethnicity honestly.

@uskoolfish‌ Okay! I guess it wouldn’t hurt if I check white and hispanic.

You should absolutly consider yourself Hispanic for admissions purposes. It can only help you.

@soze‌ Sorry for the late response. That’s good to know! Thanks!
